The Story’s mission is to inspire non-religious Houstonians to follow Jesus. We are a church that is all about Jesus. Not a religion or denomination, or any political party. Just Jesus. He never told anyone to be more religious; he told them stories. Hundreds of stories that ignited a movement and changed the world.
The Story Houston launched five years ago in a small gymnasium and has grown into an active community of over one thousand Houstonians, with a second campus opening in 2020. The Story also engages thousands of people around the world through digital content, including weekly sermons, The Maybe God Podcast and original music by the Story Worship band.
The Story Houston is searching for a part-time Marketing & Communications Specialist to elevate and oversee all marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Help improve the organization’s communication efforts internally and externally.
Identify and research audience behavior in order to develop a comprehensive marketing plan to help promote The Story’s key initiatives and other creative content such as the Maybe God Podcast.
Create and publish innovative content to ensure engagement, brand consistency and awareness.
Create and maintain a consistent voice across all content (social media, website, newsletters).
Help Marketing & Communications Manager write, edit, and proofread marketing content including but not limited to newsletters, brochures, social media posts, and website content.
Lead “quality control” over all social media campaigns.
Create and maintain strong SEO content marketing strategy; analyze website traffic and find ways to increase visibility and engagement.
Generate campaign reports; analyze campaign effectiveness and communicate results.
Qualifications for this position include:
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
Excellent writing and editing skills
Strong creative, strategic, organizational skills
Excellent organizational management skills – must have the ability to set priorities, take initiative, and manage diverse responsibilities.
Must be in agreement with and committed to upholding The Story’s Statement of Faith, as well as its stated Mission and Vision.
Experience writing and managing SEO is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of marketing experience is required.
