Join The Story Church in the DR with our partner organization GO Ministries! For the past decade, we’ve sent teams from our church community to serve with their ministries and in 2027, we’re excited to send our high school students to experience discipleship in action!
HIGH SCHOOL TRIP: June 15-22, 2027
26 spots available; students are able to attend alone or with a parent serving as a volunteer chaperone. Volunteer leaders and staff from The Story will be present on this trip as chaperones.
WHAT WILL WE DO?: We will serve alongside the pastors GO Ministries trains and support through their church planting network. We serve as an extension of the pastors working on local projects that serve the needs of the church community or as opportunities to witness to neighbors. Projects could be a wide range of tasks like painting, clearing fields, laying down concrete, and more. At the end of the week we go back to these same communities where we have been building relationships and host a VBS or sports camp for the kids. We end our trip by enjoying one of the Dominican’s natural wonders – the beach!

LODGING: All lodging will be dorm rooms, very similar to your typical American summer camp. We will have a male bunk room and a female bunk room with community bathrooms. Not all lodging is temperature controlled, but all have running water and bathrooms. All of our meals are prepared by local cooks in your dorm kitchen and we can accommodate most diets and allergies. Team members can expect a variety of traditional Dominican fare, including chicken, beans, rice, and fresh fruit.
COST:
- Deposit of $1,500 is due by January 18, 2027 to secure your spot. The deposit covers all of the operational fees from GO ($1250 per person) including ground transportation, lodging, work materials, and meals, and an additional $250 to cover Story material costs.
- Final flight payment is due by March 15, 2027. Final payment will be based on final flight group booking costs and checked baggage fees. We will be booking these the final week of January to reserve the lowest fares possible. For reference, last year’s flights were around $1,300.
- You will be responsible for any other purchases, such as souvenirs or snacks at grocery stores we visit.
- Late registrations (on or after January 19) may incur additional late fees based on fluctuating travel prices.
