Summer Tutoring Program – The Champion Project

This summer we’re hosting a summer tutoring program for The Champion Project! Earlier this year, The Story “adopted” a local foster home of teenage boys and support them with year-long mentoring on Sunday afternoons. In addition to this, for 8 weeks in June and July, we’ll host them at the church on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3pm so they can participate in online tutoring for math & reading, craft activities, games, and enjoy snacks! This is a great opportunity to build relationships with these foster children and show them what it means to be loved by Jesus.

The tutoring sessions are led by the Champion Project team on an easy-to-use online software, and we need a total of 11 volunteers to help facilitate all of the activities. Tutors can be ages 16 and older, and will need to complete an application, background check, brief interview and training on the tutoring software. Volunteers are encouraged to complete these steps by June 2.

Volunteers are encouraged to serve consistently throughout the 8 weeks. If you have to miss one or two tutoring sessions due to vacations and other commitments – no worries! We’d still love to have you serve.

Use the Register button to share your info with us. Our team will send you a link to complete the application & background check required by The Champion Project. For questions about this tutoring program, contact Connections Director Alanna Amberger (aamberger@thestory.church).
