PREPARE the WAY 2023:
Helping The Story Come Home

We will always remember 2023 as the year that God turned everything around for The Story. After seeing our church through the pandemic and all sorts of unexpected changes over the past few years, He has provided us with a new, permanent home in the same neighborhood where The Story began over eight years ago.

Of course, alongside all of these incredible blessings come a few challenges for our church. Because our efforts to acquire The Story’s new home presented such an overwhelming task in late 2022, we chose not to hold our annual stewardship campaign to support our 2023 budget. In spite of this, thanks to the amazing generosity of people like you, The Story has continued to thrive and to inspire more people than ever to follow Jesus.

Now we face one of our biggest challenges - and one of our greatest opportunities - to date: it’s time to begin The Story’s big move home to 3223 Westheimer Road! By the end of this year, we will move the church’s headquarters from the Museum District back to River Oaks, and we’ll begin holding our worship services in the gymnasium until construction on the sanctuary is complete.

An opportunity like this one requires significant resources that are beyond the scope of our annual budget. Not only are we relocating our whole operation and sprucing up the new buildings, but we are also adding key staff and launching lots of new ministries aimed at reaching as many people as possible for Christ and his Kingdom!

To that end, we need to raise $500,000 in gifts and commitments to be given between now and December 31, 2023. These donations will prepare the way for The Story’s next chapter, including the Grand Opening of our new home in early 2024. If you are able and willing to help prepare the way for all that God is about to do at The Story Church, visit our Online Giving Portal to make a one-time or set up a recurring gift, or visit our Donate page to learn more about different giving options.

As always, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your faithful generosity, and I’m confident that God will use our gifts to bring many lost souls home.

Yours in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Eric
