Questions about worship
Where can I park? Our main parking lot is located just outside the The Story Houston building, and there's an additional 4-level garage immediately east of our building (20 feet away). Parking is always plentiful and free. How should I dress? The Story Houston is a vibrant community of Houstonians, and just like our fair city, we're a diverse bunch - especially when it comes to style. For some at The Story, "Sunday Best" means jeans and sneakers, while others might sport a more business-casual look. Long story short, it's not important what you wear; what's in your heart is all that matters. How long are the services? Our services vary in length and style. The 8:45 service is simple and succinct (about 50 minutes long), with one or two instruments and one or two vocalists leading a few songs. The 9:45 and 11:05 services are a little louder (full band) and longer (about 60-70 minutes long). Our 4:00p "Conversation" includes some time for Q&A and dialogue with the preaching pastor, and lasts about 60-70 minutes. All services include Holy Communion (bread and juice) each week, and everyone is welcome to participate (gluten and dairy free options available). How's the coffee? We're a community full of coffee drinkers so you'll find great, free coffee and donuts in plentiful supply. Our coffee bar also sells lattes, iced coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks to raise money for local outreach partners, whose mission is to fight human trafficking. How can I meet new people my first time at The Story? Our volunteer greeters are always available at any of our entrances, to help you feel at home at The Story during your visit. Don't hesitate to ask them for anything you need, from the location of the restrooms to information about kids check-in! Also, volunteers at our "Connections" table in the lobby can help connect you to the community beyond Sunday morning through events, chapters, discipleship groups and Sunday teams.
